MEET THE RIDER: RHYS HARDISTY ANCORA CON IL THE PEOPLE’S BIKE TEAM

INTERVISTA A RHYS HARDISTY, PRONTO AL SECONDO TT SEMPRE DOPO LE ESPERIENZE AL MANX E CLASSIC TT

Rhys Hardisty nel 2019 prenderà parte al suo secondo Tourist Trophy, dopo l’esordio al Manx GRand Prix nel 2014. Rhys completa la line up del The People’s Bike Team, un connubio che si ripete dopo l’esperienza della stagione appena conclusa.

Mancano 218 giorni al TT 2019, quale miglior modo per prepararsi se non quello di conoscere i suoi protagonisti? Ci sono interviste che mi diverto a realizzare, per l’imprevedibilità delle risposte, questa è una di queste! Leggete fino in fondo, poi capirete.

Ciao Rhys, prima di tutto come stai?
Ciao, direi nella media.

Ormai è passato più di un mese dalla fine del Classic TT, penso sia grandioso avere dei piani chiari per la prossima stagione in questo periodo dell’anno. Come ti senti?
Determinato, apprezzo moltissimo che il The People’s Bike mi abbia dato ancora questa possibilità. Ero parecchio contrariato dei risultati di quest’anno, alcune cose non sono andate come dovevano con la moto, ho avuto alcuni problemi, ho avuto febbre il secondo giorno. La prossima settimana mi sottoporrò ad un’operazione per rimuovere le placche dalla spalla (l’intervista è stata realizzata qualche giorno prima, ad oggi possiamo confermarne la perfetta riuscita nda) e spero di riavere il mio passo dopo di questa!

Sarà il secondo TT per te, stesso team, quanto è importante per te proseguire quanto fatto quest’anno?
Proseguire e cercare di finire ciò che non ho portato a termine quest’anno! Ho amato correre per questo team, Janice e Cubbo (Mark Cubbon nda) sono stati tutto ciò che avrei potuto sperare, spero di avere ancora il mio capo pit Ian Walton e Scone, senza di loro avrei passato un periodo difficile!

Che programmi hai per la prossima stagione, che moto guiderai?
Speriamo di poter far presto un annuncio per la 1000cc. Per la 600cc al momento stiamo cercando di mettere insieme un programma, dipende tutto dal budget.

Ultima domanda, gli italiani sanno che io adoro seguirti quando corri alla southern100 in sella alla tua 250cc due tempi, ma dicci qualcosa su di te.
Dovrei lavarmi di più, ho due mani a due tempi (ride).

RHYS HARDISTY READY FOR HIS SECOND TT WITH THE PEOPLE’S BIKE TEAM

In 2019 Rhys Hardisty will take part at his second Toursti Trophy, after his Manx GP debut in 2014. Rhys will be again part of  The People’s Bike Team, this will be the second year in a row together.

In 218 days the TT 2019 will start, so what better way to wait to get to know its protagonists?  There are interviews that I enjoy doing, because of the unpredictability of the answers, this is one of these! Read to the end, then you will understand.

Hello Rhys, First of all how are you?
Absolutely average.

It’s been more one month now since the end of the Classic TT, I think it’s great to have everything sorted for the next season. Again with The People’s Bike team. How do you feel?
Made up, I really appreciate that the peoples bike have given me this opportunity again. I was disappointed with my performance last year, things didn’t really work out with bike problems and catching the flu on my second day. I’m having surgery next week to remove my plates from my shoulder (The interview has been made few days before, we can now say everything went has planned) so I’m hoping that I get my mojo back after that!

Second TT for the second time with the same team, it was important to you to continue what you did this year?
And to try and improve on last year’s finish! I loved riding for the team last year, Janice and Cubbo were everything you could ask for and I’m hoping to get my pit crew Ian Walton and Scone back without them I would have had a really tough time!

What’s the plan for the season, which bike/bikes will you ride?
We are hoping to put an announcement out soon about the 1000cc very soon. As far as the 600 at the minute we are still trying to put a plan together, funds dependent.

Last question, Italians know how much I love to see you at the Southern100 on you 250, but tell us something about you.
I should wash more frequently! I’ve got 2 stroke hands (he laughs).
