INTERVISTA AL PILOTA FRANCESE CHE DALL’IRRC SI APPRESTA A DEBUTTARE AL TOURIST TROPHY
Siamo a pochi giorni dall’inizio della North West200, i piloti stanno per partire alla volta dell’Irlanda del Nord, poi proseguiranno verso l’Isola Di Man per il Tourist Trophy.
Quattro chiacchiere al volo con il francese Franck Petricola, che con i colori del team Ice Valley Motorad di Paul Shoesmith si appresta a debuttare alla North West ed al TT, con un punto anche del weekend ad Hengelo nel IRRC.
Buongiorno Franck, come stai?
Buongiorno Lilla, io sto bene grazie. E Tu?
Anche io sto bene,grazie. Il weekend ad Hengelo è andato come ti aspettavi?
Hengelo è stato un weekend molto complicato, è stata la prima volta sulla ZX10 dopo la caduta ad Oulton Park lo scorso aprile, la moto è stata ultimata la sera del venerdì alle 20 e quindi siamo partiti durante la notte..Hengelo è un tracciato molto speciale e bellissimo! I piloti olandesi sono molto veloci! Non sono molto soddisfatto dei miei risultati, ma in queste condizioni non è andata male.
So che sei stato sull’Isola Di Ma più di una volta per imparare al meglio il tracciato, c’è un punto che hai esclamato “Oh mio Dio!”?
Prima di andare sull’Isola Di Man per la prima volta ho guardato girca 200 volte on board video, imparato il nome di tutte le curve..Durante la prima visita la mia prima reazione è stata –Sono qui!- (ride) come in un sogno! Il tracciato è impressionante, ma per me il mio primo pericolo sono io..cercare il limite fra piano e veloce sul Mountain Course credo sia il problema più grande perché non hai l’esperienza per essere veloce ma il tuo spirito competitivo lo vuole!
Prima del TT sarai sulla griglia di partenza della North West200, qual è stato in questo caso il tuo “allenamento”?
Nel caso della NW nessun allenamento speciale, uso lo stesso metodo del’IRRC, un po’ di video, nessuna pressione e tanto divertimento (ride)
Come ti senti pensando a questo debutto in queste grandi road race? Cosa speri?
Sai, di fatto non lo so! (ride) Prima dell’inizio di ogni stagione sono come un bambino la sera prima di Natale, emozionato ed impaziente, ma questa stagione è molto speciale per me, arriva dopo sei anni di duro lavoro per arrivare a questo..non so se sono felice o spaventato (ride) ma spero di poter avere molti ricordi e sicuramente farò del mio meglio!

ON THE EVE OF THE TT, EMOTIONS AND “FRIGHT” WITH FRANCK PETRICOLA. INTERVIEW WITH THE FRENCH RIDER, FROM THE IRRC T THE TOURIST TROPHY DEBUT
In the next few days the North West200 2014 will begin, riders are going to leave for the Northern Ireland and then for the Isle Of Man for the ultimate challenge, the Tourist Trophy.
A quick interview with the French Franck Petricola, he’s going to debut at the North West200 and TT with the Paul Shoesmith’s Ice Valley Motorad team, a point of his start of the season at Hengelo, IRRC’s first round.
Good morning Franck, How are you?
Good morning Lilla! I’m fine thx and you?
I’m fine thanks! Here my quick questions. Did the weekend at Hengelo went how you expected?
Hengelo was a very complicate weekend because it was my first time with the ZX10 after my Oulton Park crash in April, the bike was finished at 20h00 Friday and we have travelled during the night..Hengelo is a very special track, really beautiful! And Dutch riders are very fast! I’m not really satisfy about my results but with this conditions it’s not so bad.
I know you went on the IOM more than once for a better training , is there some point you thought “OMG!” ?
Before my first visit on the Isle Of Man I’ve watched approximately 200 times on board video, learned all corner’s name, etc.. During my first visit my first reaction was –I’m here!- lol like a dream! The track is impressively but for me the first danger is myself.. to found the limit between to slow than to fast on the Mountain circuit is, I think, the biggest problem because you have not the experience for being fast but your competition spirit want that!
Before the TT you will be on the North West start grid, how was your training for the North West?
For the NW no special training, I use the same method than IRRC, little bit of video, no pressure and lot of fun lol.
How do you feel thinking about this debut on these great road races? What do you wish?
You know…In fact I don’t know! lol Before each season I’m like a child before Christmas night, excited and impatient, but this season is really special for me, it’s 6 years of hard work for this..I don’t know if I’m happy or scared lol but I hope to take a lot of memories and for sure I will do my best!
