MOTOLOGY MEDIA PARTER PER L’ITALIA E L’EUROPA CON IL TEAM VINCITORE DEL SENIOR MANX GP 2018

Come annunciato un paio di giorni fa, sulla nostra pagina Facebook, Motology sarà, per la stagione 2019, media partner del The People’s Bike Team.

Durante questo 2018 avete visto alcune novità da parte nostra. L’impegno a raccontarvi al meglio non solo le gare, ma i suoi protagonisti, senza limitarci ai nomi sul podio.

La proposta di essere media partner ci ha riempiti di orgoglio, non lo nascondiamo, abbiamo accettato con entusiasmo, consapevoli del lavoro che dovrà essere fatto.

Dei piloti protagonisti del The Peope’s Bike Team vi abbiamo parlato nelle ultime due stagioni, anche attraverso le interviste ai piloti stessi. Ma quanti conoscono bene la filosofia alla base di questo team? Filosofia che in molti hanno ripreso, seppur parzialmente, anche qui in Italia. Siamo qui per questo.

Nel 2009 Mark Cubbon, grazie alla sua esperienza nel mondo delle corse, con l’aiuto di amici e familiari decide di fondare un team. Non si tratta di un team qualsiasi. Conscio degli ostacoli che si incontrano nella ricerca degli sponsor, Mark decide che saranno i tifosi l’elemento fondamentale, il motore trainante dell’esperienza nelle corse. Non dimentichiamo la crisi globale iniziata proprio in quegli anni.

Per desiderio di Mark, che vuol fare di più, il The People’s Bike Team aiuterà piloti esordienti, o comunque alle primissime esperienze sul Mountain Course.

Durante i primi anni il team ha collaborato direttamente con gli organizzatori del Tourist Trophy nella scelta dei piloti da sostenere. Negli ultimi anni, fra esperienza maturata nel paddock del TT e attività di osservazione sui circuiti stradali d’Europa, il team decide autonomamente i propri piloti.

Elemento fondamentale per un pilota che esordisce sul Mountain Course è poter disporre della propria moto, con la quale disputa abitualmente le gare. Grazie al The People’s Bike Team un pilota non deve cambiare mezzo. Il team si occupa per lui della ricerca dei fondi che coprano tutte le spese che dovrà sostenere nella settimana di prove e per le gare. Benzina, gomme, tanto per fare due esempi. In questo modo si permette di non “abbandonare” la moto che utilizza abitualmente.

Nel corso di questi anni lo stesso Mark ed i collaboratori, che come lui lavorano a titolo gratuito, per amore delle road race, hanno imparato dall’esperienza del team.

Sostenere economicamente un pilota al TT (o al Manx) è certamente un grandissimo aiuto, ma il The People’s Bike Team vuole fare di più. Insegnare ai suoi giovani piloti il lavoro in un team, la gestione degli sponsor e l’approccio con i media; elementi fondamentali da non sottovalutare oggigiorno.

Perché per Mark il The People’s Bike Team rappresenta il punto di partenza per un astro nascente delle corse su strada.

Grazie al The People’s Bike team i tifosi possono scegliere di essere protagonisti nella costruzione di un successo. Tanti i pacchetti offerti per poter sostenere un pilota, si può scegliere chi sostenere, in base alle possibilità di ognuno di noi.

Le carene dei piloti sono sempre un tripudio di colori. A differenza di tutti gli altri che hanno adottato questa filosofia, non sono i nomi presenti, ma foto, loghi, motti. Ognuno decide cosa inviare, un proprio selfie, ci sono foto tributo, ma anche la rockstar preferita, perché in fondo si tratta della “moto delle persone” (traduzione letterale del nome del team nda).

Dallo scorso anno il team ha deciso di estendere la sua partecipazione anche al Manx Grand Prix. Come racconta Janice Thompson, altra volontaria del team “la doppietta di Matt e Stephen ha “scombussolato” i nostri piani, non pensavamo di vincere alla seconda esperienza al Manx!”. Vi racconteremo in un articolo interamente dedicato al progetto Manx GP, analizzando in cosa si differenzia dal “fratello maggiore”.

MOTOLOGY AND THE PEOPOLE’S BIKE TEAM AS MEDIA PARTNER

A couple of days ago, we’ve announced on our Facebook page: Motology will be the media partner of The People’s Bike Team for the 2019 season.

During this 2018 you saw some news on our work. The idea to tell you, at our best, not only the races, but its protagonists, without limiting to the riders on the podium.

The offer to be a media partner has filled us with pride, we do not hide it, we accepted with enthusiasm, aware of the work that must be done.

We have spoken about of The Peope’s Bike Team’s riders in the last two seasons, also through interviews with the riders themselves. But how many of you know the philosophy behind this team? Philosophy that many have taken over, even partially, even here in Italy. So here we are.

In 2009 Mark Cubbon, thanks the experience in the racing world, with the help of close friends and family decided to set up a team. But this is not just a team. Aware of the obstacles encountered in the search for sponsors, Mark decides that the supporters will be the key element, the “engine” behind racing experience. Don’t forget the global crisis that began back in those years.

But Mark wants to do more, The People’s Bike Team will help the newcomers, or at least riders the first experiences on the Mountain Course.

During the first years the team checked directly with the organizers of the Tourist Trophy in the choice of the riders to support. In the last years, thanks the experience gained in the TT paddock and watching various road racing events, the team select now riders on its own.

An essential element for a rider who debuts on the Mountain Course is to have his own bike, which he usually uses for races. Thanks to The People’s Bike Team, a rider doesn’t have to change his bike. The team takes care of the search for funds that cover all the costs during the race week and races. Fuelling and tyres, for example.

During these years, Mark himself and his collaborators, who like him work for free, for the love of road races, have learned from the team’s experience.

Supporting a TT (or Manx) rider financially is certainly a huge help, but The People’s Bike Team wants to do more. Teaching young riders about the team work, sponsor management and media approach; fundamental elements that should not be underestimated today.

That’s because for Mark The People’s Bike Team represents the starting point for a rising star of road racing.

Thanks to The People’s Bike team, fans can choose to be protagonists in building a success. Many sponsorship packages offered to support a pilot, you can choose who to support. The fairing are always full of colors. Unlike all the others who have adopted this philosophy, it is not the names present, but photos, logos, slogans. So everyone decides to send their own selfie, there are photos tribute too, but also the favorite pop star, because this is “the people’s bike”..

Since last year the team has decided to extend its participation to the Manx Grand Prix too. According to Janice Thompson, another team volunteer “Matt & Stephen taking 1st & 2nd place in the Senior Manx wasn’t really part of the plan, we hadn’t considered they’d go out & win it in only their second year at the Manx!”
